Amsler Grid Test is a schema that allows you to detect early signs of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) disease at home. We recommend that everyone over 40 years old age to do the test.
Application Method
Hold the schema shown above in a well lit room, on a paper reading distance and the point in the middle exactly on eye level. Normally, if you wear glasses or contact lenses you use to read it.
Close your one eye with your hand and focus on the point in the middle with your open eye. Notice whether you see or not each of the four corners of the large square seen on the schema. Repeat same procedure for each eye.
If you do not see any corner or line in the surge, refraction or blur in the lines, you may have symptoms of Age-Related Macular Degeneration disease. Consult a retinal disease specialist as soon as possible.
